This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Get Peptide collects when you visit getpeptide.health or submit a pre-order, why we collect it, how we protect it and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain because we collect very little.
Who we are
The Site is operated by Get Peptide. For the purposes of data protection law we are the controller of the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at info@getpeptide.health.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you complete the pre-order form or email us, we collect the details you provide:
- your full name, phone number and email address;
- your institution or company name;
- your shipping address, including city, state or province, postal code and country;
- the product, strength, quantity and unit you are requesting;
- any special requests or notes you add;
- your confirmation that the order is for laboratory research use only.
If we ask you to verify your research use we may also collect evidence of institutional affiliation or professional qualification, which we keep only for as long as needed to complete that check.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you view and the time of your visit. This is used for security and to keep the Site running. The Site does not currently use advertising trackers or third-party analytics.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect payment card details through the Site. Where payment is taken, it is handled by a payment processor or by bank transfer under their own terms.
How we use your information
We use the information you give us to:
- respond to your pre-order request, prepare a quote and confirm specifications;
- verify that your order complies with our research-use-only terms and applicable law;
- process, pack and ship orders and keep you informed about their status;
- issue invoices, Certificates of Analysis and related documentation;
- answer your questions and provide support;
- maintain records we are required to keep for legal, tax or regulatory reasons;
- protect the Site and our business from fraud, misuse and security threats.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for automated decision-making that produces legal effects for you. We will only send you marketing about new products or pricing if you have asked us to, and you can opt out at any time by replying to any such email.
Legal bases for processing
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on:
- Contract: to take the steps you ask for before entering a contract and to perform an order;
- Legal obligation: to keep transaction, tax and compliance records and to respond to lawful requests from authorities;
- Legitimate interests: to verify research use, prevent misuse of our products, secure the Site and run our business, where those interests are not overridden by your rights;
- Consent: for any optional marketing communications, which you can withdraw at any time.
International transfers
Because we ship to researchers in many countries, your information may be transferred to, and stored in, countries other than your own, including countries that may not offer the same level of data protection. Where required, we put in place appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or rely on an adequacy decision. You can ask us for more information about the safeguards we use.
How long we keep it
- Pre-order requests that do not become orders are kept for 12 months, then deleted.
- Order and invoice records are kept for 7 years to meet tax, accounting and product-traceability obligations.
- Compliance verification documents are kept for the life of the customer relationship plus 2 years.
- Email correspondence is kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up.
- Server logs are kept for up to 90 days.
When information is no longer needed we delete it or anonymise it so that it can no longer identify you.
How we protect it
The Site is served over HTTPS, so the information you enter in the pre-order form is encrypted in transit. Access to order records is limited to staff who need it to process your order, and our service providers are required to protect information to at least the standard set out in this policy. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will notify you and any relevant regulator without undue delay if a breach affecting your information occurs.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information, where we have no compelling reason to keep it;
- ask us to restrict how we use your information, or object to our using it;
- receive your information in a portable, machine-readable format;
- withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis for processing;
- complain to your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@getpeptide.health. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We will respond within one month, or within the period required by the law that applies to you. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
If you are a resident of California, the rights above include the rights to know, delete and correct, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
Children
The Site and our products are intended for qualified researchers and are not directed at anyone under 21. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Third-party links
The Site may contain links to other websites, such as carriers' tracking pages or payment processors. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, and we encourage you to read their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page shows when it was last changed. Where a change is significant we will highlight it on the Site or, if we hold your email address, let you know directly.
